Summary:
The Director of Safety & Emergency Mgt is responsible for the operation of the hospital Safety & Emergency Management program.
Responsibilities include serving in the role as hospital Safety Officer, EMS Liaison, and Chair of the Environment of Care Committee.
Responsibilities:
Supports WMCHealth Network's Emergency Management program activities, grant programs and assures compliance with DNV, CMS, NYS DOH and other relevant statute, regulation and accreditation bodies.
Responsible for assuring the planning, implementation and completion of all responsibilities as defined by WMCHealth Network Emergency Management Program.
Responsible for the development and ongoing relationships with the EMS community, including:
Protocols, financing, communication, pre-hospital transport, inter-facility transport, receiving facilities, dispatch, public information and education, audit (QA/QI) and mutual aid.
Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring safety programs and initiatives at the hospital.
Management of Safety Plans in order to minimize hazards and reduce risk of injury to patients, visitors, and employees Represents the hospital at REMSCo & REMAC committee meetings.
Conducts outreach to the various EMS communities at a time and place convenient for the EMS providers.
Coordinates with clinical staff and EMS agencies on quality of care.
Responsible for investigating employee injuries, responding to OSHA allegations and providing corrective actions.
Responsible for oversight of the hazardous waste program.
Serves as the hospital's liaison to the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) and Hospital Association of New York State (HANYS) Emergency Management Committees Interacts with local and state emergency management officials, and other departments and agencies.
Schedules and conducts fire drills in accordance to regulatory requirements Completes risk assessments as needed.
Designs, organizes delivery and/or develops, produces, implements, conducts, and evaluates educational programs (including outlines, goals, objectives, lesson plans, curricula, materials (books, manuals, slides, etc.
), exams/evaluations, and other related materials) which anticipate current and future emergency preparedness needs of WMC's staff and physicians.
It is recognized that in many cases this may be organizing the delivery but outside agencies or directing staff to distance learning materials.
This includes maintenance of a database and hardcopy files of all training conducted Responsible for scheduling and coordinating EMS related CME, Call Audits, and Conferences Designs, develops, produces, implements, conducts, and evaluates exercises (functional, tabletop, full scale, etc.
) to test the EOP and operational readiness of emergency preparedness systems of the hospital to meet the requirements of DNV, CMS and NYS Department of Health.
Maintains the Emergency Preparedness equipment inventory for the Hospital.
Supports the implementation and on-going education of the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System (HEICA) throughout the organization, including supporting the following responsibility areas:
Security and Safety, Communications, Training, Operations, Logistics, Planning, Finance and Operations.
Responsible for the hospital Emergency Operation Center, Will serve as a NYS DOH HERDS HPN Coordinator.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
A minimum of two to three years of hospital experience in the management of a comprehensive Emergency Management Program, required.
EMS experience and CEM preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in emergency management, safety, and health care or other related field, required or Equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted for degree requirement.
Licenses / Certifications:
NYS DOH EMT-P, required Recommended Skills Auditing Clinical Works Content Management Databases Drilling Operations Education Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
